On With Mario Lopez (February 9, 2014)
Mario: Hey what's up this is Mario Lopez. On the phone, my girl Tiffani-Amber Thiessen! How are you hunny?
Tiffani: I'm good hunny. How are you?
Mario: Well, it's great to hear your voice. I'm doing fine. Thank you. First of all: Happy Birthday! Welcome to the 4th level, officially. I can't believe I've known you since you were 15 years old. I mean that is just unbelievable, right?
Tiffani: It's kinda scary. I mean it's cool, but it's kinda scary.
Mario: It is scary because it feels like the snap of fingers, it wasn't that long ago.
Tiffani: And doesn't it feel after having it kids, it goes by even faster?
Mario: It really does, it really does. Oh my gosh. I haven't seen you in person in a minute which I wanna do something about that, but you'll notice a lot more gray in my hair when we do meet up.
Tiffani: Me too, but mine's covered.
Mario: Let me ask you: should I paint mine or should I let it go?
Tiffani: You're a dude. I don't think you should.
Mario: Man, but then I'm hosting these young shows like X Factor and all that and I can't be a gray haired dude on these young skewing shows. That's not a good look.
Tiffani: Then you wouldn't be covering your age.
Mario: Good advice. Okay. When I did meet you at 15, I might add, that you were the most beautiful 15 year that I have ever seen in my life.
Tiffani: Aw, you're very sweet, Mario.
Mario: And now, might I add, one of the most beautiful 40 year -- 40 year? 40 year olds!! I can't even say it.
Tiffani: I know, I know. It's weird. I haven't even said it yet, I don't think. I don't even think I could say it.
Mario: Ah, it gets easier. It gets easier. Well people can celebrate your birthday by seeing you tonight and every Thursday night, for that matter in White Collar on USA. You having fun doing that show?
Tiffani: We love doing that show, I love doing that show. We shoot in New York City and we're on our season 5. We're actually in season 5 and we're having a blast. We're in New York City, we have the best crew and cast in the world. And I hope it goes on forever, even though I'm sure it won't, but I love that it has 5 seasons and I hope it has a few more years left in it.
Mario: Well, you seem to have the Midas touch cause all the shows you worked on have gone at least 5 seasons!
Tiffani: You're kinda right, I guess you're right. I had a good feeling about this show when I first read it. I was very blessed to actually get the job.
Mario: Yeah, well they're blessed to have you because they knew they had at least 5 seasons in them right there.
Mario: My assistant, by the way, loves you in the show. Told me to call your Mrs. Suit and she's a big fan. I find it ironic and don't you, your characters name is Elizabeth Burke.
Tiffani: Isn't that funny? Believe me, Elizabeth and I talk about it all the time. Something's very funny about all that.
Mario: Did the writers do that like an inside joke?
Tiffani: No, they said no. They actually said no, but I'm like, "Ah I don't know." I have a little suspicion going on, but I love it.
Mario: I don't believe it.
Tiffani: I love it. The show as Mrs. Suit.
Mario: That is awesome. And I mention Saved by the Bell. Do you see it on E! for 2 hours now? Like, it does not want to go away.
Tiffani: Honey, it's never going to go away. It's never ever ever going to go away.
Mario: I had, I can't believe it -- I had these little kids come up to me yesterday, as a matter of fact. They must have been 5, 6 years old.
Tiffani: They're still watching it right?
Mario: Well, first of all, I was flattered that they recognized me still. From that show!
Tiffani: You do look the same.
Mario: Oh, you're sweet, thanks. But then they still watch it! I couldn't believe it!
Tiffani: Yeah, we have like all these new generations watching. It's pretty funny.
Mario: Does your daughter watch it yet?
Tiffani: She doesn't yet. I feel like she's a little too young, but maybe the next couple of years. I'm sure.
Mario: Yeah. It'll be so funny. Now, please tell me about this cooking show you're doing because, with all due respect, I didn't even know you could cook.
Tiffani: Ah very funny, ha ha. Yes.
Mario: Because back in the day, you had a hard time making toast!
Tiffani: No, I love to cook. It's a total passion of mine. I have a show called Dinner at Tiffani's and it's airing March 22 on the Cooking Channel. You guys will have to check it out.
Mario: And what are you cooking? What are you doing on the show?
Tiffani: It's different all the time. The first one is a special. I have some past friends from people you actually know. Willie Garson, my co-star on White Collar going to be on the show, that episode and an old person that I've known for a long time like you, Lindsay Price, and another friend of mine, Nathan Fillion. So they're in the first episode, but it's basically, me getting together with old friends that I've known. Some people know each other, some people don't. And we all sit down and connect over a meal and I'm in the kitchen cooking.
Mario: Well, what's up with an invite? Hello, I'm a professional eater!
Tiffani: [laughs] Well it's good to know! You'll have to come and do the show for sure.
Mario: I will. And you know what's great? I was gonna say, "You know what's great about me?" [laughs] Honestly, though, what's great about me is that I love all food, so even if you're a horrible cook, I'm gonna love it.
Tiffani: You know, you sound like my husband. My husband is exactly the same way, but I will say this -- I'm actually very good.
Mario: I'm sure you are. You know what to do.
Tiffani: I really am. I promise you, you won't have to fake it. You won't have to put on the acting for me, I promise.
Mario: Sounds good, well I'm happy people get to see your personality because you got a great one. You get to show off your cooking skills, you got so much going on. Now, how's little Harper? How old is she?
Tiffani: She's 3 and a half now. As you know, they grow fast.
Mario: They do and so our little girls are really close in age.
Tiffani: They're almost like a few months apart right?
Mario: Yes! They are. And I keep up with you via Twitter so I get to see. She's so cute. All the pictures.
Tiffani: I know, I got to meet your kids. We really do need to get together. It's kind of ridiculous.
Mario: I know. I will let you know next time I'm in New York. Please let me know when you're here in LA and again, I wanted to wish you a very Happy Birthday. I love you. You're the best!
Tiffani: I love you to sweetheart. Thank you so much. You're the best for the call.
Mario: Okay, take care Tiff.
Tiffani: Thank you hunny, love you.
Mario: Okay bye hunny.
