Tiffani Thiessen's Stay Fit Tips! (November 14, 2013)
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — It's hard to believe Tiffani Thiessen, aka the former "Saved by the Bell" cutie, will turn 40 in January. But, she looks absolutely amazing. She reveals in the November/December issue of Women's Running magazine that running is her go-to. She ran her first marathon in 2004 and says from that moment on she fell in love with the sport. "I love the training and I really love race day. For me, it's not about the competition or what I can do, but about the energy or being part of a crowd."
When she's not working on her current show, "White Collar," Tiffani enjoys spending time with her husband, actor Brady Smith, and their daughter, Harper. She tells Women's Running that she hopes Harper takes to working out and eating healthy. So far, Harper is right on course. "There isn't a fruit that she doesn't eat, and she loves broccoli, carrots and kale chips. She eats peas right out the pod."
Tiffani shared with Women's Running magazine her favorite kid-friendly pizza recipe.
White Pizza (serves 6)
- 3 Tbsp. olive oil (divided)
- 1 16-oz. ball of pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 8-oz. ball fresh mozzarella, thinly sliced
- A few handfuls of arugula
- 2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cup part-skim ricotta
- Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
- Grease 17-by-12-inch rimmed baking sheet with 1 Tbsp. olive oil.
- Place pizza dough on the center of the baking sheet, and using fingers, press out and flatten the dough so it spreads as close as possible to all four corners. This might seem difficult, but persist! A thin crust will be worth it.
- Cover the dough with mozzarella and brush exposed edge of crust with 1 Tbsp. oil.
- Bake for 15 minutes until the crust is crispy. If the cheese starts to bubble before the crust looks done, cover the center of the pizza with foil.<.
- While the pizza bakes, toss together the arugula, Parmesan, 1 Tbsp. olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
- When the pizza is ready, let it cool for about two minutes then top with the salad.
- Dollop ricotta and finish with a few grinds of pepper.
