As Kelly Kapowski on Saved by the Bell, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen was the quintessential teenybopper. But with the coming-of-age of her sexy, sassy Beverly Hills, 90210 character, Valerie Malone, she has shed this image. Now, she's the sauciest vixen this side of Heather Locklear.
An all-grown-up Thiessen means even more grown-up roles. In fact, she's become quite the movie-of-the-week it gal lately, starring in two NBC thrillers just this year: Sweet Dreams and Buried Secrets. In fact, as she focuses on career, the only thing not blossoming for her right now is her love life. (No, for the hundreds of you who asked, she's not still engaged to 90210 costar Brian Austin Green.)
How does it feel to be the desire of every man who watches 90210?
It makes me wonder why I'm single!
Who is the first guy you ever fell for?
My first love was a guy named Eddie Garcia. He was my dance teacher and partner when I took dancing years ago.
Which 90210 storylines have you enjoyed playing most?
My favorites are the ones where I get to harass Kelly. Jennie Garth and I love working together.
Can you give us a sneak peak on what's coming up?
More backstabbing and heartache.
What actor do you think is the greatest kisser?
I'd have to say Jason Priestley is the best kisser.
You've come a long way from Kelly on Saved by the Bell. How has your own life changed since then?
I think the only thing that has really changed is my looks and my experience and wisdom in acting.
Who's a better boyfriend, Zack Morris or David Silver?
Zack was a better boyfriend. He didn't have all the drug problems David has.
What is it like going to the set every day and having to work with your ex-fiancÚ, Brian Austin Green?
Brian and I are still good friends, and it's as easy working with him now as it was before.
I heard you were currently housing with a guy. Is this true?
I have a roommate, and he is a guy, but he's my assistant. He works with me and helps me out with the house.
What do you do for fun?
I love to work out, go to the beach with my dogs, cook and vacation in Montana.
Is this the last season for 90210?
No, we have another after this one. That will be the eighth season.
If you could work with any actor, who would it be?
I would love to work with Al Pacino and Tom Cruise.
What CD are you listening to right now?
I was listening to Elvis Costello in my car a moment ago.
You are in such good shape. What sort of exercises do you do, and how do you fit it in your schedule?
I work out five to six times a week. I either do weight training or cardiovascular training. I exercise both in the morning and night. Basically, whenever I can.
If you could change one thing in your life, what would it be?
I'm very grateful for what I have been given and wouldn't change anything. I feel that we are given everything we have for a reason, both good and bad, and that we learn from them. This is what gives us character.
I've heard you mention that you spend a lot of time with your dogs. What kind do you have?
I have two golden retrievers and two cats.
Do you feel that your privacy has been invaded by tabloid shows--and do you see this invasion as a consequence of fame?
I think people in the entertainment field have no privacy. All the tabloids want to see is a person fail at something.
If you could only thank one person for your success, who would it be and why?
I'd have to thank our higher power--God. He gives us what we all have today.
