Lindsay Price's big day is almost here!

Before the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum welcomes her first child with boyfriend of two years Curtis Stone, the 34-year-old mother-to-be was feted by pals at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel on Sunday.

The baby shower was hosted by Ringer's Sarah Michelle Gellar, Price's longtime BFF from their days on the ABC soap All My Children. While overlooking L.A. and the Hollywood Hills from a private suite, Price and pals dined on a variety of menu items including truffle and artichoke risotto, Nutella Crepes with burnt-bourbon caramel drizzle and Banana creme brulee.

Tiny Prints — which provided the invitations — also set up a table for attendees to create their own stationery.

Due to work commitments, Stone, 35, was unable to join the festivities — but he sent his girlfriend some love from New York City. "I am very excited to be a dad," the chef told Us Weekly at NYC's Hotel Indigo Friday. "Lindsay's doing just fine. She's really good." (US Magazine)

'White Collar' Tiffani Thiessen 'wants Saved by the Bell reunion'

Posted August 2, 2011

SBTB Reunion: Tiffani with Mark-Paul GosselaarWhite Collar star Tiffani Thiessen has admitted that she would love to be reunited with her Saved by the Bell co-star Mark-Paul Gosselaar on the show.

Thiessen played Kelly Kapowski on the NBC teen sitcom from 1989 to 1994, while Gosselaar played her boyfriend Zack Morris.

The actress told Entertainment Weekly: "It would be really fun to have Mark-Paul on the show, but that would be really hard because he's working on his show [TNT's Franklin & Bash].

"But it would be fun. He's a great guy, and he would blend very well with the rest of the guys on the show."

Thiessen added that she is "always open to the choices" made by the casting team on White Collar.

"They always bring in some really great people," she said. "It'll be nice to see if they bring on some people I've worked with in the past. Maybe I need to make a little list."

Is Tiffani Heading To 'Dancing With The Stars'?

Posted August 2, 2011

Is Tiffani Heading to 'Dancing With The Stars'?With Robert Kardashian confirmed for the forthcoming season of "Dancing with the Stars" and Snooki's name still taking a spin on the possible contenders list, there is one star's name that producers can cross off their list — Tiffani Thiessen.

"I've been asked a few times, but my response to that is that I am an actor, not a dancer," Thiessen tells me.

Admitting she never watched her former best friend, Jennie Garth Cha-cha-cha on the dance floor, Thiessen says she may take her turn on the televised dance floor when she gets older.

"I think I would rather be one of those 50 and above and going back to get into shape. They can ask me then."

Tiffany was just 15 years old when she won her fame-making role as Kelly Kapowski on "Saved by the Bell" before landing "Beverly Hills 90210" and now "White Collar." But even with three hit TV shows under her belt, she's not rolling in the dough.

"I just wish I got the paychecks that [young actors] do today," Thiessen tells me. "Why do you think I am still working? If I had that, I would be living in the middle of America with a farm and kids running around."

But speaking of the younger set, there's one more show on which Thiessen refuses to make an appearance, "90210" — the modern reboot of the 90's hit.

"I never saw the new version. Was it bad?" Thiessen asked me as I nodded. "I didn't say it — he did."

But good or bad, Thiessen isn't interested.

"I made it pretty clear that I didn't want to do it. "Is it still on? I don't even know."

To see my entire interview with Tiffani tune into my talk show "Naughty But Nice With Rob" on HDNet, Saturdays at 1:00pm and 7:00. (Huffington Post)

Ology.com Interviews Tiffani

Posted July 07, 2011

Most of us grew up with Tiffani Thiessen on our TV screens (and yes, she dropped the Amber a while ago, people). Both Kelly Kapowski (Saved by the Bell) and Valerie Malone (Beverly Hills 90210) were hugely popular characters in the early 90s. And with good reason. She was pretty much every guy's dream girl. And every girl wanted to be her. I know I did. She got to make out with Zach Morris for crying out loud. Anyway, now the actress and new mother is busy starring on USA's White Collar as Elizabeth Burke, wife of FBI agent Peter Burke (played by Tim DeKay), a role she says is most like the real Tiffani.

We recently caught up with Tiffani and she gave us some great deets on the rest of the season. We also talked bad 80s fashion trends, crushing on costars and that whole Justin Bieber thing. Read on!

Tiffani Takes Baby Harper For A Stroll

Posted June 29, 2011

Tiffani Takes Baby Harper For A Stroll At just a year old, little Harper Renn is already emerging as a mirror image of her famous mother Tiffani Amber Thiessen.

The toddler, whose dad is actor Brady Smith, joined the 37-year-old former Saved By The Bell on a stroll through midtown Manhattan yesterday.

The little doppelgänger, who has clearly inherited the star's heart-shaped face and brunette locks, took in the city's sights from her pink pram.

From the expression on her face, little Harper is going to break as many hearts as her mom did while playing beautiful high school student Kelly Kapowski on her hit show.

Thiessen, who looked chic in a black sheath and movie star shades, currently appears onscreen in the third season of USA Network's drama series White Collar.

There's even more proof that Harper may follow in her mom's footsteps: she spends a lot of time on set.

Baby, Harper Renn She recently told Movieweb, 'Oh, no, my child goes with me everywhere!'

'I made a little joke actually on a — I see you, sweetie — as you can hear her. But wherever myself goes she goes and she's pretty much attached to my hip these days and has been from day one.'

'So she actually, and my mom, who helped me a lot last year when I came back after having her, they came to the set with me every day because I was nursing and I'm still nursing, so she goes with me everywhere.'

'So, she's a definite little veteran already on set.'

Remember the wonderful thing Justin Beiber did a few days ago? He attended an event wearing a Kelly Kapowski shirt. Tiffani saw that and thanked Justin on Twitter, and now she is seen wearing the shirt at yesterday's, "Horrible Bosses" screening! How cool is that?

On the shirt she wore last night

"[It] was sweet to see him wearing my shirt so I just wanted to show the admiration back," Tiffani told Access Hollywood on Friday, adding she is a Bieber fan. (Access Hollywood)

I saw a photo of Justin Bieber wearing a T-shirt with you on it, now you're reciprocating, wearing one of him. How did this come about?

I have no idea how it came about with him, but I'm just trying to show the love back, that's all.

Are you a fan?

Of course I am. He's adorable.

Did you see his movie Never Say Never?

I'll say yes. [Laughs.] Sure!

Where did you get that T-shirt?

Actually, I had my show, White Collar — they got it in Times Square. They're all over the place. I have, like, 9 million of them in my apartment right now. So if anybody wants Justin Bieber T-shirts, I've got them.

He's actually in town today; he did a perfume launch at Macy's.

Tiffani Struggles to Shed Baby Weight

Posted June 21, 2011

Tiffani Thiessen admits she has "more to go" in her post-baby weight loss journey now that daughter Harper is fast approaching her first birthday.

"Oh, I'm trying so hard," the White Collar star, 37, says. "I've got a little bit more to go, but I'm getting there. I'm still nursing, so I've got that little last bit that's hanging on there until I stop, but I wanted to go at least a year. I'm training like crazy with my trainer here in NYC, Josh Zittomer. He's amazing. I run. I was a runner before, and I'm running again. Yoga, core classes — I do everything. I do it all."

Although Tiffani and hubby Brady Smith would like baby #2, she's not ready quite yet.

"Not anytime soon. We'd love to have more. We'd love to expand our family, but I'm enjoying my time with her. I'd like to have a little bit of time with her for a little while, and get my body back to where it was, and then get pregnant again."

How will they celebrate Harper's first birthday next week?

"We're actually, luckily enough, we're going to be home for the week for her birthday, so we're going to celebrate it at home," she tells me. "Nothing big, probably just family. It'll be small. Just something nice for her. She's not going to remember it. It's mostly for us, right?"

For now, Harper is relishing her 11-month-old status.

"She's great. She's talking up a storm, she's an early walker, which scares the life out of me. [laughs] When she started walking, I was like 'I thought I was going to have a few more months of this crawling thing.' She went right into walking."

Hubby Brady gets props for helping with little Harper.

"He's full-time here with me, and my mom's here as well. I've got double-duty help. It's awesome. But he can't feed her [laughs], sadly. Sometimes I wish he could. But no, he doesn't."

How does Tiffani juggle career and motherhood?

"My mom, my husband. That's the only way I'm able to do it."

Still, Tiffani longs for elements of her child-free days.

"Now that I'm a mom, I don't wear perfume as often, just because I think with a baby, you don't want to have them around scents too much. I do miss wearing them. I used to wear them a lot. I've had quite a few staples in my life. I'd be obsessed with one fragrance for a while."

Of course, her area of expertise has gone from beauty to babies.

"Sesame Street. That's my life now. Sexy, isn't it?" (Ok Magazine)

Tiffani Credits Family for Her Motherhood Success

Posted June 6, 2011

Motherhood success - Tiffani holding baby HarperTime flies when you're having fun — and since the birth of daughter Harper Renn, new mom Tiffani Thiessen has been having a blast with her baby girl.

"She's going to be 1 in a couple of weeks. I can't believe it. I feel like I just had her yesterday, but it's super fun," the actress, 37, told reporters during the 10th Annual Baby Buggy Bedtime Bash on Wednesday in Central Park.

But with her work on USA's White Collar, the first year wouldn't have gone as smoothly without the help of two very special people: husband Brady Smith and Robyn, Thiessen's mom.

"I wouldn't be able to do it without my mother and husband. Family. I don't know what I would do without them," she admits, adding that the trio often tag-team throughout Harper's day, including her bedtime routine.

"[Our routines are] different all the time. I get a 4:30 a.m. call, I get a 6:30 a.m. call. It's going to make [Harper] very adaptable, I guess."

And although life can become a bit hectic for the family, Harper isn't letting anything — or anyone! — hold her back when it comes to hitting her major milestones.

"She started walking at 10½ months and it scared me to death," Thiessen laughs. "My husband was working and I was working, but she was with me. It was exciting and I got it on film right after so it was pretty cool."

While family is always first and foremost for Thiessen, she admits her good intentions don't always pan out in her favor when it comes to balancing both her career and her child.

"The priority is her, but it doesn't always work out that way and the guilt that sometimes you feel as a mom is hard," she reveals.

Fortunately, Thiessen has learned a few tips and tricks along the way for maximizing time for herself and her 11-month-old daughter.

"I usually work out with my trainer when she's napping because I don't want to miss anything!" she says. "When I'm working I feel like I'm already missing stuff, so when I'm not working I want to spend as much time with her as possible." (People)

Former Saved By The Bell pin-up Tiffani Thiessen dresses down for a stroll with baby

Posted May 4, 2011

Brady and Tiffani strolling with baby Harper She was the ultimate Nineties teen idol, first as cheerleader Kelly Kapowski on hit sitcom Saved By The Bell, and then playing bad girl Valerie Malone on Beverly Hills, 90210.

But plenty of time has passed since Tiffani Thiessen (known then as Tiffani-Amber) graced the walls of teenage boys, and the actress is now 37 and a mother.

Far from the midriff tops and short skirts she donned in her heyday, Tiffani was spotted taking a stroll in New York yesterday and chose comfort over style in her casual attire.

Tiffani dressed down in a loose-fitting vest and cardigan, jeans and ballet flats as she took in the sights in New York with baby Harper, 10 months, and husband Brady Smith.

The actress, who is based in Los Angeles, attended an event in the city the night before, where her glamorous appearance made it seem as though no time had passed at all since her starring TV roles.

She looked radiant in a white summer dress at the 2011 USA Upfront event at The Tent at Lincoln Center.

Now Thiessen appears on crime series White Collar, playing the wife of detective Peter Burke. (Mail Online)

In the Baby Zone with Celebrity Mom Tiffani Thiessen

Posted May 1, 2011

In the baby zone with TiffaniMany of us grew up watching Tiffani Thiessen on Saved by the Bell, then 90210. So it's only fitting that we transition into motherhood with her, too. Now starring in the hit White Collar on the USA Network, the mom to daughter Harper, born June 2010, is also keeping busy with her adorable furniture line, Petit Nest. Tiffani discusses her mothering instincts now that she has entered the Baby Zone.

What's your golden rule of parenting?

Always go with your intuition.

Describe the best moment of parenting so far.

Wow...there's so many amazing moments when she first started saying, "Mama" or when she gives me a huge smile and giggles, it lights up my whole world.

And the worst?

Anytime she cries it just breaks my heart. The worst has been when she broke her first tooth. She was up all night. Nothing we could do for her helped. You feel so bad...

Best advice you ever got?

Don't go crazy with what everyone says you have to do or don't do... Go with your own gut when it comes to your kid.

What's the one thing you can't live without?

My mother... she's been my rock. I don't know what I would do without the help and advice from her. Harper, my husband, and I are really fortunate to have her help.

Finish this sentence: You know you're in the Baby Zone when...

... it's 3 AM and you're up ordering diapers online! (Baby Zone)

Tiffani's Healthy Teeth Initiative

Posted May 1, 2011

You may know her as Kelly from Saved by the Bell, Valerie from Beverly Hills, 90210 or Elizabeth on White Collar, but Tiffani Thiessen believes one role is more important than any other: mom. Her 10-month old daughter Harper has changed her priorities and has reinforced the value of being active and healthy.

We spoke with Tiffani, who recently teamed up with Crest to promote the importance of oral health, about how she lives healthy and why pearly whites are important to her.

Why did you decide to partner with Crest? Gum disease and gingivitis are often such silent diseases, but affect so many people. Did you have a personal experience that sparked your interest in raising awareness? You definitely do have one of the best smiles in Hollywood!

Being a new mom and an actress, my smile is very important to me. I was shocked to learn that one in two American adults have gingivitis and many don't know it! By partnering with Crest, I can encourage people to pay attention to their oral health. I love Crest Pro-Health Clinical Gum Protection toothpaste, which provides advanced protection to help prevent and reverse gingivitis in just four weeks.

Were you anything like the famous characters you portrayed?

I am quite a bit like Kelly Kapowski on Saved by the Bell. She was outgoing and very close with her family, which I could relate to.

How did you learn to be comfortable in your own skin while being in the public eye during much of your life?

I was always very aware of my body and it's different stages of development because I would see myself on TV so much. I always tried to take any criticism lightly and remind myself that being healthy is the most important thing. This is true for anyone: it's not about fitting into a size 2 and looking good on the outside—it's about living a healthy lifestyle!

How did you stay healthy and in shape during your pregnancy? And what have you been doing to stay fit since having your daughter?

I was very active during my entire pregnancy. I continued working with my trainers in L.A. and in New York with weight training. I also did a lot of yoga and hiking.

Now that you've had a baby, how has your life changed? What do you want your daughter to learn from you?

My life is now all about her! It's amazing how your priorities change when you have a little one. It's weird…life seems more complicated on one end but it's also clearer. I would love to instill in her the same values that my family instilled in me: kindness, generosity and the love of all things living.

What fitness adventure do you wish to cross of your to-do list one day?

I was a big runner before I had a baby and am getting back into that. I have done a lot of races but I would love to do a triathlon soon. I cycle a lot, but the swimming is what I need major help with! Baby steps, right?

What's your favorite form of working out?

Variety is key for me. I love working out with my trainers one on one because I feel like I get the best work out that way. Yoga classes are great as well — besides a great workout, I feel like I leave class feeling like I just had a massage. Being outside and hiking is another love of mine. Now I can bring my daughter with me and we get to be outside together! (Fitness Magazine)

Tiffani Brings Family to White Collar Set

Posted May 1, 2011

Brady, holding baby Harper, with Tiffani on the White Collar set Proud momma Tiffani Thiessen was photographed with husband Brady Smith and their nearly one year old daughter Harper as they headed over to the White Collar set in New York City, New York on Monday, April 18th, 2011. Can you believe little Harper is about to celebrate her first birthday?!

Not only has Tiffani been keeping busy with the USA hit but she also teamed up with HGTV's "Design Star" Lonni Paul to create one of the first high-style infant and children's lines called, PetitNest after finding it difficult locating pieces she liked for Harper's nursery. You can purchase everything from baby furniture, bedding collections, and even really pretty wall art.

Everything is made in America and Eco friendly too!

I've no idea how she finds time to do it all AND look fabulous in the process. Next she needs to write a book and tell us all her secrets on how she does it!

Tiffani & Brady's Snoozin' Sweetie

Posted May 1, 2011

So sweet! Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Tiffani Thiessen was seen walking with husband Brady Smith and their 10-month-old snoozin' daughter Harper in New York City today (April 18). The family-of-three were on the set of Tiff's TV show, White Collar, in the Meatpacking District of Manhattan.

Tiffani recently opened up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about her busy schedule.

It's always a struggle to find time for anything it seems now that I am a mom," Tiffani said. "Between my time with Harper, shooting my TV show White Collar and then launching PetitNest, I hardly have any free time. But it's all worth it. I enjoy every bit of it." (Celebrity Baby Scoop)

Also, Celebrity Baby Scoop reports that Tiffani is a fan of "Storksak", designers of beautiful changing bags for parents.

I also wanted to say thank to you Tatfan (Renee). She posts in the forums often with news, thank you so much!

Tiffani: "Everything I do is for my family."

Posted May 1, 2011

Tiffani and Lonni PaulWe've loved her since she played the all-American teen, Kelly Kapowski, in Saved by the Bell and the lovable vixen, Valerie Malone, in Beverly Hills, 90210. Tiffani Thiessen has recently taken on her greatest role of all: Mom to nearly 10-month-old daughter Harper. After having trouble decorating her nursery, the actress along with Design Star finalist Lonni Paul created PetitNest, a new line of baby furniture, bedding and wall art.

Tiffani opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about her latest creative adventure, how motherhood has changed her, plans for baby No. 2 and playdates with former Beverly Hills, 90210 costar and good pal, Jason Priestley. Lonni also talks about their new business and her experiences as a working mother.

CBS: Tell us about your new line of baby furniture, bedding and wall art called PetitNest. What inspired you to start the line?

TT: "When designing my nursery with Lonni while I was pregnant I didn't see a lot out there that appealed to my aesthetic taste. So Lonni and I thought, 'Hey, why not design our own,' never thinking we would actually be here a year later with PetitNest."

CBS: Do you find it challenging to find time to work now that you're a mom?

TT: "It's always a struggle to find time for anything it seems now that I am a mom. Between my time with Harper, shooting my TV show White Collar and then launching PetitNest, I hardly have any free time. But it's all worth it. I enjoy every bit of it. And I have always been someone who likes to have a lot going on. It's in my genes to be busy. You should meet my mother!"

CBS: How's baby Harper doing? What is she into these days? What does she do to make you laugh?

TT: "She's amazing! She blows me away on a daily basis with the things she discovers and does. She's about ready to walk which is exciting and scary at the same time. And when she laughs it lights up my entire world. I can spend hours on end trying to make her laugh."

CBS: How has motherhood changed you?

TT: "Being a mom has put everything in perspective for me. How the little things don't mean anything anymore. My life is truly all about her and everything I do is for my family."

CBS: Has Harper had any playdates with any of your Beverly Hills, 90210 and their kids?

TT: "We spend a lot of time with Jason [Priestley], Naomi, Ava and Dash. They are a big part of our lives. It's been great to share parenthood with them."

CBS: Are you hoping to add more children to the family one day?

TT: "Yes of course. Not anytime real soon but we would love to have more kids."

Lonni's Interview

Lonni Paul, award-winning designer and the reigning female finalist from HGTV's Design Star also opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop. Read on...

CBS: Tell us about PetitNest. What inspired you to start the line? How did you connect with Tiffani on this?

LP: "I met Tiffani while on Design Star. It was her guest room I designed for the celebrity challenge. We hit it off right away and later when we worked together designing a nursery for Harper we realized we wanted something different that wasn't on the market. We set out to design a classic, modern and timeless furniture line that would grow with your child. We wanted our furniture to have a sense of style in that it could be used anywhere in the house. Breaking for the more typical children's furniture styles. Our dressers and gliders are designed not only for the nursery but can be used by teens and adults as well."

CBS: Tell us about the eco-friendly aspects of the line.

LP: "We use no-VOC paints, formaldehyde-free adhesives, natural linen with non-toxic dye's and sustainable manufacturing processes. And also since the furniture can transition from nursery to toddler and beyond, you don't have to buy new after 3-4 years. That's the ultimate in eco-friendly."

CBS: You're a mom of three kids, tell us about them. What are they into? Do they have a flair for design?

LP: "I have an older son Mick and 5-year-old twins Jett and Sophie. Mick is into golf and movies. He's a neat freak and loves his room to be clutter-free and modern. We just moved so I'm in the middle of designing the twins' room. Jett is all about building — anything and everything! He wants the PetitNest tree to be climbable so he can watch the rocket ship he's designing as it takes off. Sophie is fascinated with books, learning how to spell and anything that has to do with princesses and the color pink. She takes paint swatches and inspiration pictures and hangs them on her walls. She's really into it and is constantly showing me pictures from my magazines of things she likes. She's 5 with major opinions. I love it!"

CBS: Do you have a favorite mom moment or memory you can share?

LP: "Being a mom is the best part of my life. There is a new favorite moment almost everyday but my daughter Sophie came up to me last week and said, 'I always wished for a mommy like you, even before I was born.' That was a pretty great moment!"

CBS: What advice do you have for moms who want a beautifully-designed home, but can't seem to make it happen with all the kids toys and baby gear in the way?

LP: "You just can't get away from the gear when you have kids, but what you can do is buy it in colors that are more aesthetically pleasing and use creative storage solutions to keep it out of the way when it isn't being used."

CBS: You were a finalist on HGTV's Design Star. What was it like to be on that show?

LP: "That was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Being away from my family and working crazy long hours doing intense physical labor! But it was worth it in the end. It taught me so much about myself and what I can accomplish. Many wonderful opportunities have come from it. Best of all, I met Tiffani who's an amazing partner and friend. And now we've built PetitNest!

CBS: What's up next for you?

LP: "One of my design projects involves doing a total remodel on the old James Cagney estate. And of course Tiffani and I are hard at work on a new line of PetitNest toddler furniture and our first book." (Celebrity Baby Scoop)

Tiffani Talks About Motherhood and New Career

Posted May 1, 2011

We all know and love Tiffani Thiessen for her character Kelly Kapowski on the 80's hit TV show Saved by the Bell, and for her vixen-like character, Valerie Malone, on Beverly Hills, 90210. But Thiessen is in her most important role ever right now: that of mother to her 10-month-old daughter Harper.

Thiessen and her husband, actor Brady Smith, welcomed daughter Harper into the world on June 15, 2010. The couple has been married for almost 6 years.

But she also is adding to her resume, too! After having trouble decorating her nursery just the way she wanted, Thiessen joined up with Design Star finalist Lonni Paul to create PetitNest, a new line of baby furniture, bedding and wall art.

Thiessen recently sat down with Celebrity Baby Scoop to talk about motherhood and her life.

On being a working mom, Thiessen says: "It's always a struggle to find time for anything it seems now that I am a mom. Between my time with Harper, shooting my TV show White Collar and then launching PetitNest, I hardly have any free time. But it's all worth it. I enjoy every bit of it. And I have always been someone who likes to have a lot going on. It's in my genes to be busy. You should meet my mother!"

On the subject of motherhood, she says: "Being a mom has put everything in perspective for me. How the little things don't mean anything anymore. My life is truly all about her and everything I do is for my family."

She also says her daughter Harper is "amazing": "She blows me away on a daily basis with the things she discovers and does. She's about ready to walk which is exciting and scary at the same time. And when she laughs it lights up my entire world. I can spend hours on end trying to make her laugh."

And are there going to be more kids in the future? "Yes of course. Not anytime real soon but we would love to have more kids." (Famecrawler)

Tiffani Thiessen Talks about This Season of WHITE COLLAR

Posted February 19, 2011

White Collar Season 2

USA's WHITE COLLAR has returned for the second half of season 2 and, in this reviewer's humble opinion, is better than ever. Daemons TV was there when co-star Tiffani Thiessen (who plays Elizabeth Burke) talked about her character, the lovely relationship between Elizabeth and Peter, what it was like to finally to get it on a con and more.

On her character.

Tiffani said that Elizabeth Burke is "one of first characters I've played that I feel most like my character this time." She also said "I aspire to be her, she's very career driven but puts her relationship with her husband first." She also remarked that she admires Elizabeth's great relationship with Peter and how "they are best friends."

In fact, she said that the only real difference between herself and Elizabeth is that they don't have kids on the show, while she is now a mother herself of a seven and a half month old daughter (who we could all hear making happy baby noises throughout the call, which was very cute).

Tiffani added that she "fell in love with Elizabeth because she was written as such a strong woman."

On what the challenges are of playing Elizabeth.

Tiffani reported that playing Elizabeth was "not really challenging as it's very close to home for me. The challenge now is juggling of baby and work, and being a mom while still running off to work."

On the relationship between Peter and Elizabeth.

Tiffani remarked that White Collar was one of the "first scripts I read where it's a marriage that actually works on TV," adding "normally they are all about the drama, but not with the Burkes," and "I love the way Jeff has created the relationship between the two of them."

She also spoke about her co-star: "Tim is an amazing man. I fell in love with him the moment I met him and I had always loved his work," adding that "he and my real husband have a lot of similar qualities," which made sense as to why they got along so well on screen.

When asked about the idea of Elizabeth and Peter having children and what that might do to their marriage, she replied: "Elizabeth and Peter might bicker if they had kids, but every marriage has that, even without kids." She also added: "I had thought about them having kids, but I also enjoy that they don't have any children and that their dog is their child."

On whether or not she has any input into her character.

Tiffani pointed out that the producers, writers and directors do welcome input and brought up the fact that originally Elizabeth had a different career when they wrote the pilot. At the time, she was written as an accountant but the writers changed their minds and decided to leave that part out. So in the first episode we never knew what Elizabeth did because they simply didn't know what to do with her.

Tiffani said at that point she "sat down with Jeff Eastin and told him I always wanted to be an event planner and he loved it and put it in," adding "[event planning is] what I would do if I wasn't acting."

On what it was like to finally get to be part of a con.

Tiffani teased that we will get to see more of that kind of thing closer to the end of this season, adding "I love getting into the action with the guys and love working with all of them. We all have great chemistry, which can be a real rarity."

When asked about Elizabeth's ability to jump right into the con in the episode "Burke's Seven" Tiffani said "[Elizabeth's] been around her husband's business for a long time," and "from season one we've seen that he brings his work home with him and goes over cases with her," adding that working on cases "comes naturally to her because she is around it all the time."

She also pointed out that, in a way, Elizabeth's career prepared her for working with Neal and Peter as "an event planner is a producer so it made sense."

Tiffani also told us that Elizabeth should make more appearances towards the end of this season than she did at the end of season one, as "last year I was off a lot having the baby, etc."

She also teased that in one of final episodes we will see a lot between Elizabeth and Neal: "It will be just the two of us together," adding "I can't say more as it could give it away, but we end up working a lot together in that episode."

On what should thought about everyone's backstory in the episode "Forging Bonds"

Tiffani said "It was fun to see what [Jeff Eastin's] true vision was and how it differed from what we all thought," and that "it was lots of fun to learn about everyone."

In fact, she said the only surprise for her was "was that a mustache was in Peter's past. But I liked it, I think Tim looks great in a mustache."

On the difference between working in LA and NY.

Tiffani very quickly pointed out that the weather is the biggest difference between the two cities, commenting how it was 70 degrees in LA currently, which back east it was freezing. She also added "It's funny that I always wanted to be bi-coastal and now I get to do that and live in two great cities," adding that "I love that my daughter gets to experience the best of both worlds." White Collar Q&A: Words with Tiffani Thiessen

Posted February 19, 2011

Tiffani Thiessen has been a part of some of the biggest pop culture sensations on television during her career. On USA Network's con artist dramedy White Collar, she plays FBI Agent Peter Burke's wife Elizabeth, who just a few episodes ago got to share in some con action of her own. On a recent conference call, Tiffani took time out of her schedule to discuss new motherhood, her secret event planner dreams, and why you won't see her on Dancing With the Stars.

What do you like about playing Elizabeth?

It's one of the first characters I've played in the 20-some odd years I've been in this business that I feel most like. I aspire to be Elizabeth Burke every day. I love that she's a career driven woman. I love that she puts her relationship and her marriage first. I love the relationship she does have with her husband where, you know there's a lot of love between the two of them and a lot of trust. But there's also a great friendship between the two of them.

What do you find challenging about the role?

It's one of the closest roles to myself that I've played probably in probably my entire career. I have to say it's not really been a tough role in that sense because I do feel like it's close to home for me. I'd probably say the hardest thing is the juggling aspect of my personal life, now having a baby and going to work. Everything else is quite nice and fun, I feel very blessed to have the cast and the crew that I do.

You portray one of the few functioning marriages on TV, which is a refreshing change. What's it like working with your onscreen husband Tim DeKay?

Tim is such an amazing man, I fell in love with him the first moment I met him. I was always such a big fan of his work. I've watched a lot of his shows in the past and when we had our first chemistry read, we hit it off right away. Funny enough, it's like he and my real husband have a lot of the same qualities so it kind of just fits and it really took off from day one.

Do you have a chance to offer input into your character?

Well, you know it's funny. We definitely have a great relationship with the writers and producers and creators of our show. They always welcome our ideas, which is really nice because not every show is like that. They've listened to a few little inputs that I've had. I guess at the beginning, they had Elizabeth have a different career. At the time when the pilot was written, she was an accountant and they ended up scratching that in the pilot and shooting. That's why in the pilot you have no idea what she's really doing because they couldn't figure it out. So, when the show got picked up, I sat down with Jeff Eastin the creator and kind of went around some ideas of what possibly could be her job and her career. I always thought if I wasn't an actor I would've wanted to be an event planner or an event coordinator, so that's where that idea came from. I told him and he loved it.

What was it like to finally be part of the con in "Burke's Seven"?

You know, it was really fun and you actually get to see even more of that towards the end of this season. I was a little absent at the first half of the second season because obviously I was pregnant and I had my daughter, but I always love to get in the mix with the guys. You know, how much fun it is to get to work with Tim and on the business side of things and Matt is adorable and Willie, you know I actually started doing more and more things with Willie which has been quite fun. It's a rarity I believe that we have such great chemistry.

Has your daughter visited set yet?

I make a little joke about it, wherever my stuff goes she goes. She's actually been attached to my hip since day one. She and my mom actually who helps me came to set with me every day. She's definitely a little veteran.

Your character has emerged as a strong role model, do you approach her that way?

Well it was definitely written that way and that was one of the reasons I loved the character so much. I've said this so much but you don't see a lot of strong women who have strong marriages on TV, you don't see that very often. That was one thing I really enjoyed reading the script and really falling in love with Elizabeth in that sense. Absolutely, it was written that way for sure, but every actor puts their own two cents into a role to make it their own.

What are the differences to you of working in New York rather than Los Angeles?

The weather! That is the biggest difference as it's 75 degrees here today and it's freezing back in New York City. That is probably the biggest difference. What's really nice, is I've always wanted to be bicoastal so when this job came about, I kind of had a little wish come true where we get to spend six months in New York and six months in LA, two great cities I think. Now that I have a kid, I think it's great for her to kind of really have both cities which are so, so different in that sense. The noise and the lights and the excitement of New York City, it's such an amazing city and the restaurants and the arts. In LA we have great weather, it seems like it's 75 degrees year round, and it's beautiful and you're outside all the time. She has the best of both worlds and it's really nice.

Is it harder to work in one city or the other?

It used to be that it was easier to find work in Los Angeles, but that's really shifting now. It's shifting a lot where I find a lot of my friends who are actors are not even shooting in Los Angeles anymore, which is actually a very big problem. As you know and everybody knows, our state is broke. Hopefully the big guys kind of figure something out and try to get our entertainment industry here in California up and running because it really has hit hard for a lot of people. It's funny that every single one of us on the show is from Los Angeles.

Have you enjoyed the developing friendship between Neal (Matthew Bomer) and Elizabeth?

Oh, absolutely. I mean who doesn't want to stand next to Matt and work with him. Towards the end of this season…we do the entire episode pretty much together, the two of us. I don't want to give it away, but it's a lot of fun.

Some of your former Saved by the Bell castmates have done Dancing With the Stars, is that something you'd consider?

I've been approached quite often and it's not something I'd consider actually. It's not something I see in my future. I give a lot of credit to people who do it, because it seems like a lot of work. But, you know right now, for me, my life right now is about my show, acting, my kid now, and my husband. It's not really a part of my world at this point.

You've grown up in the business; as a mother would you encourage your daughter if she wanted to pursue acting?

It's nothing I would encourage, the reason being 20-30 years ago when I was in the business, it was a lot different than it is nowadays. Nowadays, with the tabloids being as aggressive as they are, and people making money off of the misfortunes of actors, I just would not want her to be susceptible to that kind of stuff. When she's old enough and over 18 and old enough to make those decisions, then of course I would support her in whatever she wanted to do. But, when she's under 18 I would definitely not advise it. It's not what I would wish for her at this point.

Tiffani Refused To Date Actors

Posted February 5, 2011

Brady and Tiffani TogetherFOR a time actress Tiffani Thiessen refused to date actors. After all, the beauty, who'd played the vixen Valerie Malone on "Beverly Hills, 90210," had been linked with several during her career.

But seven years ago she was coaxed into a blind date. And voila! She fell for another actor.

"When I met him I knew he was going to be the father of my children," she says over breakfast in a sunny coffee shop here.

"I'd never ever been on a blind date before, that's what's so funny. It was set up by a friend. She was an actor as well, and had met him when they were doing a TV show together.

"I'd made that rule a year before that. I said, 'No more actors!' We got married in July, 2005 and had our first baby the summer of 2010."

Thiessen had countermanded her rule for actor Brady Smith ("Castle," "Harry's Law"), who pops in the door of the restaurant, pushing a stroller with chubby-cheeked, 7-month-old Harper in tow. Smith slides into the next table, and loosens the blanket around Harper, who smiles when she sees her mother.

"What made it a little different with him, he was also a painter," says Thiessen, cooing to Harper. "So I thought he wasn't the typical actor and only an actor, he had other aspirations in his life. That's why I was open to it."

The couple lives only a few blocks away and makes a go of their relationship by encouraging and supporting each other in whatever they want to do. Thiessen recently started a baby furniture and bedding company with an interior designer partner. Smith says he was all for it.

"I have full and complete confidence in my wife just because I know she's smart and she wouldn't tackle anything that she didn't think she could handle," he says, then backs off saying, "It's her interview. I'm just here with the baby."

While others might still see Thiessen as the doe-eyed ingenue, she's all grown up now. And as the wife of FBI agent Peter Burke on USA's "White Collar," she proves it.

Laughing, she says, "The whole first half of the season last year, I wasn't in it that much and it was because I was pregnant, and I was here in Los Angeles (they film in New York) and they only shot me in one scene each episode. And they shot me from my boobs up. Most people knew from the news, but they never showed it on the show."

Sipping her cafe latte, she says, "I've been doing this for a very, very long time - almost 26, 27 years now, and it's truly one of my most favorite jobs that I've had in a really long time. I truly say that because I adore everybody that's on that show - all the guys - we get along very well. I feel very blessed, I have to say."

At 37, Thiessen has been acting most of her life. She started in kiddie commercials then moved to TV and film. At one point she thought she'd had enough, she says. "In my mid-20s I went through a phase where I had a break in work and wasn't working a little bit there. I'd spent a lot of time in Montana, and I fell in love with the mountains and the simple life and nature and wanting to be away from Los Angeles.

"And here was a point that I almost was: 'I'm kind of over it.' But I didn't quit. I'd gone to Montana for a friend's wedding and fell in love with the area and the mountains. I almost bought a place. I almost moved. It would've been a huge step," she sighs.

Instead, she stuck it out and eventually met her husband. Thiessen says that she and Smith are never competitive about work. "Ups and downs are common to every marriage," she says. "Sometimes my mom's very busy and maybe my dad's not so much or maybe vice-versa. I think that's marriage. We're very good about making sure that WE are the priority. And it doesn't matter about the other stuff.

"He came with me last year when we were in New York. He didn't want to be without Harper. But he's an actor, he can work in New York, which he did. He shot two movies while we were there.

"Sticking together is very important to us," she adds, "because we have very good role models and a lot of people give up too easily. It's one of the hardest relationships, I think. You're living with somebody (of) the opposite sex who couldn't be more different from you.

"So the give-and-take that we have to give to each other is extremely important. Brady's taught me to be much more vulnerable. I don't think I was vulnerable when I met him. I was a pretty tough cookie, because I was on my own for a long time and I traveled a lot and he showed me that part of a marriage is showing each other your vulnerable side. I think I ease him a little. The bigger picture is important and the messy little things don't matter."

Tiffani Tells Us What To Expect

Posted January 20, 2011

THE VIDEOLAND VIEW: With "White Collar" returning to the USA Network lineup tonight (1/18), leading lady Tiffani Thiessen reports that viewers can expect "more face time with me this season, that's for sure, especially in the second half of the season."

Thiessen, who gave birth to daughter Harper last June, points out, "I missed a lot of shows last year."

She resumed work about seven weeks after giving birth, bringing her mom along to the set to tend TO the baby when she was busy before the cameras.

As for what's ahead for her Elizabeth Burke character, the high-end event planner who is married to FBI man Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) — who oversees the assistance being provided by reformed criminal Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) — on the sophisticated series? Thiessen says we can expect a storyline that involves one of Elizabeth's clients, as well as more interaction with the men.

"I think they love having my character work with all the guys on the show — more with Tim's character, of course, but they love having me with Matt as well," Thiessen says. "She is kind of the voice of reason on the show — the female voice, the female perspective."

Wouldn't want to be without that. (Gourverneur Times)
