Tiffani Thiessen Gets Distracted by Matt Bomer's Good Looks on 'White Collar'

Posted December 26, 2010

According to Tiffani Thiessen, she actively fought for her role on 'White Collar.' But now, she has a hard time acting in the series, because co-star Matt Bomer is so good-looking that it proves a distraction, she said on 'The Rachael Ray Show' (weekdays, syndicated).

"I have a very hard job," Thiessen joked. "Matt Bomer is just so ugly. A lot of times, I have a hard time actually wanting to do scenes with him. I'm like, 'You're so pretty.'" (TV Squad)

Tiffani: Baby-Centric and Loving It

Posted December 26, 2010

While the "White Collar" team is busy creating episodes of their sophisticated crime dramedy, off-camera their set is becoming something of a romper room. At least, that's the feeling one gets listening to Tiffani Thiessen, whose six-month-old daughter, Harper, is the latest addition to the tiny visitor contingent.

"There are a lot of people on our show who have kids. She's definitely the newest one. I think they love having her energy around the set. It's fun. I think we're going to have a little playroom/nursery when we go back into production," says the actress, who plays the smart wife of an FBI man (Tim DeKay) on the popular series that also stars Matt Bomer as a reformed, debonair thief. They'll resume work in March for the show's third season. "White Collar" returns to the USA Network schedule with part two of Season 2 on Jan. 18.

It wasn't easy going back to work six-and-a-half weeks after giving birth, Thiessen admits. "I missed everyone, but I was not real excited about going back. It was definitely challenging. You're kind of like a walking zombie, tired all the time. I'm nursing, so my mom would come to the set and take care of her while I was working. The show has been amazing. They gave me time whenever I had to nurse her. I'm really blessed to have had so much understanding and a lot of great help. I have to give credit where it's due -- I couldn't have done it without help from my mom and my husband (actor Brady Smith)."

Right now, Thiessen's attention is on Harper's first Christmas and "all the things you've got to do -- the cheesy photos with Santa, the Christmas tree," she notes happily. The Smiths will spend "half our Christmas in California with my family, and half in Texas with his," she notes.

There's also Thiessen's new entrepreneurial sideline: Petit Nest, the baby furnishings line, including, she says, "cribs, dressers, chairs, gliders, decorative art and things like bedding and linens."

"When I was designing my own nursery... I realized there was not a lot out there that appealed to (my) tastes," she says.

All of which might lead one to think the one-time "Saved by the Bell" and "Beverly Hills, 90210" cutie has a baby-centric mindset these days. And that's just fine with her. "She's the light of my life," she says of Harper. "I fall in love with her more every day." (ArcaMax)

Tiffani dishes challenges of bringing her lil' one to the set of her new series

There's a video of Tiffani and some quotes from her on the Rachel Ray Show.com:

Tiffani Thiessen is back on the small screen and the Saved by the Bell and 90210 star says fans shouldn't be surprised it's taken a little while for her to pop up in her latest role on White Collar. "A lot of people don't realize that it actually can take a long time to actually get a show started," she explains, while adding it was definitely worth the wait. "When I read the script, I fell in love with it from day one!"

These days she brings along an extra project to the set of the USA Network series — her baby girl Harper Renn! The 36-year-old says she sometimes can't believe this her life. "I feel like I'm on a different planet," she jokes. "Everything is so great and wonderful!'"

Tiffani: 'I'm a Walking Zombie'

Posted December 21, 2010

With daughter Harper Renn almost 6 months old and in the middle of teething, Tiffani Thiessen and husband Brady Smith find themselves splitting evening duty.

"I'm the one that gets up in the middle [part of the] night — he has the really early shift and I have the night shift," explained the White Collar star, 36, at the USA and The Moth presentation of A Perfect Union: Stories of Prejudice and Power Monday night in Manhattan.

And in spite of Thiessen's mom, Robyn, helping out as well, it doesn't look like the actress is getting much sleep. "I'm a walking zombie, and I think I'm going to be like that for a while," she joked.

As for that last bit of post-baby weight, Thiessen is giving herself a little break for now.

"I'm not thinking about it because it's the holidays. I'm not even giving it a second thought. But afterwards, I have this last 10, 12 pounds I have to lose. I'm getting there!" (People)

"Saved by the Bell" Movie Rumors Back?

Posted December 21, 2010

There was a recent article on The Fan Carpet about Elizabeth Berkley leaving the gym, but most importantly, that:

She is rumoured to reprise her role of Jessie in the announced big screen outing of Saved by the Bell along with her co stars Tiffani Thiessen who played Kelly, Mario Lopez who played AC Slater, Mark-Paul Gosselaar who played Zack Morris, Lark Voorhies who played Lisa Turtle, Dustin Diamond who played Screech Powers and Dennis Haskins who played Mr. Richard Belding. If all comes together the film should go into production next year.

Seems like the press won't let go of this one... maybe there's more truth than is told?

Tiffani Thiessen Talks Motherhood: 'I've Never Been So Happy'

Posted November 5, 2010

Tiffani at the PetitNest Launch PartyTiffani Thiessen will always be recognized for her fun-loving role as Kelly Kapowski on the 90s hit teen TV show, Saved By the Bell, but she's recently taken on the biggest role of her life — motherhood.

Partnering with Crest, the actress and new mom hopes to bring awareness to the importance of oral health for everyone, even toothless babies!

Tell me a little bit about your partnership with Crest.

"Being a new mom and an actress, my smile is very important to me. I was shocked to learn that one out of two American adults have gingivitis and many don't even know it! Through my partnership with Crest, I can encourage other people to pay closer attention to their oral health and protect their smiles. I've been using new Crest Pro-Health Clinical Gum Protection toothpaste. It provides advanced protection to help prevent and help reverse gingivitis in just four weeks."

So many mothers don't realize that dental hygiene should be encouraged even before a child's first birthday. How do you plan to educate your daughter about the importance of dental hygiene?

"It's important to start oral health habits young, even before they have teeth by caring for their gums. Once Harper is old enough to start brushing I think it's important to make the process fun. Playing her favorite song or video while brushing, or letting her choose her favorite toothbrush color will make the oral care process exciting and engaging for her. Also, I think it's important to teach children at an early age the importance of eating fruits and vegetables because nutrition plays a big role in oral health."

How did you and your husband come up with the beautiful name, Harper Renn for your daughter?

"Harper is a name my husband and I have always loved. Renn was given to her by my mother. It's sort of been a tradition that the grandmother gives the middle name in my family. Amber was given to me by my own grandmother as well."

I know that you got your start as a child model, how would you feel if in the near future Harper expressed an interest in show business?

"I honestly wouldn't want it for her. At least not while she is young. It was hard enough when I was doing it 25 years ago and I feel it's even harder now. The pressures are even greater for child actors."

You have a new eco-friendly baby/children furniture line, PetitNest, did decorating Harper's nursery inspire this venture?

"It was very much inspired by Harper and designing her nursery. My partner Lonni Paul and I were working together and decided to start a line of our own after noticing there wasn't a lot of baby furniture lines out there that appealed to our aesthetic taste. So PetitNest was born."

What's the best advice that you could give a first-time mom?

"Breathe...lots and lots of breathing. It's not easy. But it's so rewarding at the same time. I've never been so happy. She lights up my whole entire world by just smiling or giggling at me. It's amazing. And live for each moment. They go by so fast! I truly try and live for each special moment with her."

What's been the most unexpected aspect of being a new mom?

"The fact that I could love such a tiny new addition to my life so much and in a way that I have never loved anything before!"

Tiffani can be seen on USA Network's action drama, White Collar, returning with new episodes January, 18th (Parade)

Celeb M.O.Mpreneur Team ~ Tiffani Thiessen & Lonni Paul

Posted November 5, 2010

Actress Tiffani Thiessen & Celebrity Designer Lonni Paul of HGTV "Design Star" Team Up to Inject Style & Sophistication into Design for Younger Generation

The collection was created by Tiffani Thiessen currently starring in the hit USA Network series "White Collar" and celebrity designer Lonni Paul of HGTV's "Design Star," two design savvy Hollywood moms and now Mompreneurs!

The collection is a collaboration between Tiffani Thiessen and award-winning designer Lonni Paul, known to millions as the reigning female finalist from HGTV's "Design Star" where she was chosen from over 10,000 designers. Selected for the Fendi Casa Designer of the Year Series, Lonni has designed luxury residences in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Malibu, Provence, Aspen and the Hamptons.

The ladies met on national television when Lonni designed a guest room in Tiffani's home on HGTV and they have gone on to successfully collaborate on a number of design projects. While working together to create a nursery for Tiffani's daughter, Harper, they decided to launch a high-style infant and children's line with an entirely fresh perspective. The PetitNest collection features cribs, dressers, gliders, children's chairs, wall art, bedding and a children's rocker.

The amazing collection can be seen on http://www.petitnest.com/

We we honored to chat with new M.O.M Tiffani and M.O.M Lonni and learn more about their venture together and of course being M.O.Ms.

Congratulations on so much! Tiffani, welcome to Motherhood and we welcome both of you as M.O.Mpreneurs! I'm sure you were always M.O.Ms (masters of multitasking) because you both were always doing a million things but along with the biggest job of all, being Moms, you've launched an amazing new company, PetitNest.

M.O.M Katie ~ So Tiffani, tell us, have you learned to juggle? Ha! How is it as a first-time Mom managing work (White Collar), marriage, social life, entrepreneurship, and sleep? Do you sleep much these days? Do you have a daily routine figured out?

M.O.M Tiffani ~ No No and No. lol. Juggling is definitely the word...or actually balancing could work as well. I'm overwhelmed but for all the right reasons. I couldn't be happier with my life right now. I have an amazing healthy happy little girl, a wonderful supportive husband, an amazing family, the best job in the world and starting a new business that I couldn't be more excited and passionate about. So life is goooooood!

M.O.M Katie ~ Most M.O.Mpreneurs realize their entrepreneurship while pregnant or after they have kids. Was design always a passion for you? Did being pregnant with Harper jump start the dream of starting your own business, PetitNest?

M.O.M Tiffani ~ It definitely started the fire for sure. Between "nesting" while pregnant and working with Lonni...it all came together. Design has always been a side passion of mine so when I started working with Lonni it just seem to make sense for us to start this company.?? ?

M.O.M Katie ~ The PetitNest Collection is amazing! What was the hardest part about starting the line/company? Will there be seasonal lines or all year round with adding new pieces and lines here and there? What is your favorite piece so far? I love the gliders, myself.

M.O.M Tiffani ~ I don't think there has been just one hard part. Starting any business from the ground up is hard. Then add our other jobs, kids, husbands in the mix and you've got difficult! Lol. But it has been fun. Lonni and I have been laughing through the whole process as well. It's what keeps us sane.

As for the line, we haven't really decided on whether or not we'll do seasonal collections or just update when we have new things to add. But the way our creative minds are going these days we could be adding things all the time.

It's hard to pick a favorite. I love the gliders because they are so comfortable and if you choose the sunbrella technolog, you can bleach it. It's an amazing feature. But then I do love our cribs and dressers. I think the designs are like nothing that's been seen before...so to me they are very special.

M.O.M Lonni ~ Thank you! We're very happy with how it turned out! The hardest thing about starting a new company is the overwhelming time it takes. So many hours involved with making sure safety regulations are met or exceeded and monitoring quality control. But it was all worth it!

Right now we're working on the next phase of our line which will be conversion kits for the cribs and other pieces like twin beds and armoires. My favorite pieces are the dressers because they are so versatile and can be used anywhere in the home. I also love the gliders because they are designed to be comfortable for a parent holding or reading to one or two kids! (so important to me as a mother of twins!) And I love that, like Tiffani said, they are easily cleaned so they will last for years.

M.O.M Katie ~ Recently you showcased at the ABC Kids Expo. How was that experience? Most small companies go back and forth about attending, would you recommend that show as a great way to launch your product/company? Will you be heading to Louisville next year?

M.O.M Tiffani ~ It was a big undertaking..even moreso for my partner Lonni. I have to give her credit. I was in NY shooting and then having a brand new infant. She took on most of the ABC show and boy, was it a lot! We thought it was an amazing way to showcase our company....so I would recommend it for sure.

M.O.M Lonni ~ It was fantastic! We planned our launch for the show and worked very hard to make it happen in time. Our line was so well received and we met wonderful retailers who are now carrying our line so I would most definitely recommend the ABC Expo as a great way to launch your company. We haven't had time to even think about louisville!!! But we'll probably be there!

Thank you so much for inspiring us M.O.Ms and our NOW mutual M.O.Mpreneur community. We look forward to following your success as Moms and Entrepreneurs with PetitNest. (Master of Multitasking Mom)

Tiffani: "Miley Cyrus Seems To Be A Normal Teenager With Good Family Values"

Posted November 5, 2010

Everyone's favorite villain from our youthful days watching Beverly Hills, 90210 has teamed up with Crest Pro-Health to help Americans take better care of their pearly whites. Tiffani Thiessen chatted with BettyConfidential about the importance of teeth care and her fitness regimen.

Miley Cyrus haters might be surprised to hear that Tiffani is one mother who has no qualms with the teenager's recent sexified persona. In fact, she thinks Miley is good role model. Do you agree?

Check out our exclusive Q&A with Tiffani now.

How have your teeth changed since partnering with Crest?

Since teaming up with Crest Pro-Health, my outlook on my teeth and oral health certainly has changed! Being a new mom and an actress, my smile is very important to me but, I was shocked to learn that 50% of American adults have gingivitis and many don't even know it! So through my partnership with Crest, I'm excited that I can encourage other people to pay more attention to their oral health and help teach them how they can protect their smiles. Using new Crest Pro-Health Clinical Gum Protection toothpaste provides advanced protection to help prevent and help reverse gingivitis in just four weeks.

Do you have any beauty secrets you'd like to share with Betty readers?

Staying hydrated is my most important beauty secret.

What's your fitness regimen?

I am a runner first and foremost. But, I love to have a variety of ways to stay in shape. Some include weight training, yoga, Pilates and hiking.

What's the food people should avoid while trying to stay in shape?

I have always been a believer that everything is good in moderation. I believe it's okay to even have small amounts of the less healthy things like sugar, white flour etc.

What's a food you suggest eating while trying to stay in shape?

Again, I'm an advocate for water. It's the best tool for losing weight.

What's been your favorite part of acting in White Collar?

My favorite part of White Collar is the cast I get to work with. I feel like I am the most blessed actor.

You've been part of two of the most important and notorious television shows for teens (Beverly Hills, 90210 and Saved By the Bell) in the 90s. How does that feel?

It makes me feel very special. Both shows were very significant in my life and I have such fond memories of both.

What do you watch on TV now?

Having a newborn, I don't have time for TV anymore.

Who in pop culture do you think teenagers look up to a lot now?

It seems a lot of teenagers look up to Miley Cyrus.

Do you think she's a good role model?

I think Miley is a great role model. She seems to be a normal teenager with good family value. (Betty Confidential)

Tiffani Thiessen Talks Life After the 'Bell,' Motherhood and Her New Nursery Line

Posted October 31, 2010

Tiffani Thiessen may forever be Kelly Kapowski from "Saved by the Bell" to many of her fans, but the actress who went on to play vixen Valerie Malone on "Beverly Hills, 90210" and, currently, stars in USA's "White Collar," is now a 36-year-old mom and savvy businesswoman.

Thiessen has partnered with celebrity designer Lonni Paul, of HDTV's "Design Star," to create PetitNest, an upscale furniture line for babies. Thiessen and her husband, actor Brady Smith, welcomed daughter, Harper, June 15, 2010.

ParentDish recently spoke with Thiessen and Paul about the new line and why they decided to join forces.

ParentDish: Tiffani, I have to ask, do you still have people coming up to you and calling you Kelly Kapowski?

Tiffani Thiessen: Yeah, I tend to get that a lot, yes!

PD: You are now an adult and a new mom?

TT: I am, I am.

PD: How is baby Harper?

TT: Good. I am actually looking at her on the monitor as I talk to you. She is sound asleep for a change. She had a rough few days because she just had her 4 month shots.

PD: What is she doing these days?

TT: She rolls from her back to her stomach. She can't roll from her stomach to her back quite yet.

PD: I read that you didn't have the easiest road in terms of getting pregnant?

TT: I had mercury poisoning so we decided to wait until I was mercury free to try and get pregnant. I had to go through a whole process, which took over a year to get rid of all of the mercury that was in my body.

PD: How did you get mercury poisoning?

TT: I was a non-meat eater for 15 years. I would only eat fish and ate tuna twice a week, which I did not think was a big deal. Apparently, it was. Tuna is high in mercury and did not do well in my body.

PD: So Harper is your little miracle?

TT: She is and she is doing great.

PD: Sounds like she needs a sibling?

TT: No, we are done for a little while.

PD: Between caring for your daughter and starring in "White Collar," where did you find the time to create PetitNest?

TT: I don't know, we are crazy women. I guess it started when Lonni and I met. It was on a TV show called "Design Stars." My husband and I were fortunate enough to have her as our designer for our guest bedroom, which we fell in love with. Yet, at the same time, we also fell in love with her and decided to bring her back to do our kitchen, create a playroom and then the nursery because I was pregnant.

PD: And just like that PetitNest was born?

TT: We noticed that the furniture we had looked all the same so we decided, why not create something that appeals to our style and hopefully to others, as well.

PD: Describe each of your roles in the business.

TT: Lonni is more of the designer. She puts more work into the design aspects of the stuff.

Lonni Paul: Tiffani is more of the techie. She is a total tech guru.

PD: Lonni, does being a mom help you design the collection?

LP: I have 4-year-old twins so, yes, having that experience does play a key role in knowing how to create. You have the mindset of a parent to understand what a parent needs.

PD: What do parents need?

LP: For example, with our gliders, we use fabrics that can be cleaned easily and can be used in other rooms in the house, and not just the nursery. We also try to design chairs that both Mom and Dad can use and are eco-friendly.

PD: How important is eco-friendly furniture to your clients?

LP: Important. A lot of people are trying to be eco-friendly, so we honor that request by using recycled things when making our products.

PD: Since we're slowly coming out of a recession and people are careful how they spend their money, is your stuff affordable?

TT: It is not something you would find at Target or Babies R Us, but it is not crazy over-the-top prices, either. One reason we don't have a low price tag is because all of our products are made in the United States. It was really important for us to build a company here and create jobs.

LP: While a lot of stuff made overseas comes with a lower price tag, we felt it was important to get people who needed jobs back into the work force. The other benefit: The quality of our line is top notch.

PD: And the state of the economy didn't scare you in terms of launching your company?

TT: It is always scary to start a venture -- not to mention how we both have full-time jobs and are taking care of our children. But, like they say, there is no time like the present.

PD: Given all the recalls we read about, do you work with safety specialists to avoid making those lists?

TT: Yes. Our cribs meet the standards and have been put through a series of tests. We are also with the JPMA (Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association) and do not make drop side cribs.

PD: So, what's the next step?

TT: We are working on conversion kits so when a baby outgrows their crib, they can convert it into a toddler bed.

PD: Tiffani, your former co-star Mario Lopez just became a dad. Has he reached out to you for a crib, changing table or glider?

TT: He already had his nursery done for awhile. (ParentDish)

Tiffani and Lonni Celebrate Debut of PetitNest

Posted October 15, 2010

Actress Tiffani Thiessen, star of USA Network’s White Collar, her husband Brady Smith and designer Lonni Paul of HGTV’s Design Star celebrated the launch of PetitNest, infant and children’s room furnishings, at Azure Luxury Pool at the Palazzo on Sunday night.

"It is furniture that you can pull apart and can use in other parts of the home and is modern and timeless," Thiessen said in a statement. She arrived at the event just after getting her daughter Harper to bed. "She turns 4 months this Thursday," said the new mom beaming with pride. When asked about advice for new mothers, she responded, "Just remember to breathe. And laugh!"

Thiessen, in a simple and elegant black mini-dress, was all smiles and affectionate with Smith, sharing kisses by the pool and posing for photographs on the blue carpet, poolside and with guests. VeeV served signature Nestini cocktails with VeeV Acai Spirit, grapefruit juice, Chambord and a slice of lime.

Larry Birkhead, who has a daughter, Dannielynn, with the late Anna Nicole Smith, was among the event’s attendees and talked with guests.

Azure was the site of last Thursday's Glass Slipper Soiree benefiting Assistance League Las Vegas. More than 500 guests attended the benefit and donated 600 pairs of shoes and $5,450 in support of Assistance League’s Operation School Bell program to provide shoes to schoolchildren. Celebrity moms Tiffani Thiessen, Lonni Paul launch new furniture collection

Posted October 15, 2010

Actress Tiffani Thiessen of "Saved by the Bell" and "90210" fame, along with HGTV's "Design Star" finalist Lonni Paul, have teamed up to create Petit Nest, a new collection of infant furniture and bedding debuting at here at the ABC Expo. The pair were inspired when working on the design for Thiessen's daughter Harper, now 3 months old.

"A lot of the furniture looked the same," said Thiessen, and so she and Paul set to work on Petit Nest. Both women wanted the collection to be high-style, American made, and eco-friendly.

Cribs are manufactured in Bandera, Texas, and are made from an eco-friendly MDF with a water-based finish, and feature walnut, beech or white accents. The six modern crib designs range in price from $1,250 to $1,290 retail, with dressers priced from $1,450 to $1,490. Circle and medallion motifs embellish the Noe, Alouette and Sophie cribs and dressers, while the Wren features a wavy design and the Perrin includes oval lines throughout. Add-on changing stations are available in beech, walnut or white, and are priced at $245-$265 retail.

The line also includes glider rockers in four styles: the Odette, Ettienne, Luc, and Camille, with wing back, curved, modern and tufted designs, and fabric choices in Sunbrella velvet, linen, or linen/cotton blend. Retail price points are from $1,120 to $1,425. A child-size version of the Ettienne retails from $420 to $700, depending on fabric choice.

Crib bedding collections are produced in California, and are made of 100% cotton with eco-friendly dyes in muted tones and sophisticated patterns and motifs, including floral berry, damask, and peacock.

The entire collection is designed to coordinate without being too matchy-matchy, said Thiessen. Paul said first-day feedback has been good at the show, with customers calling the line "fantastic" and "so different." (Kids Today Online)

Tiffani and LonniAs a new mom to 4-month-old daughter Harper Renn, Tiffani Thiessen has started to adjust to the sleepless nights and never-ending feeding schedule — sort of.

"I'm overwhelmed, but for all the right reasons," she says. Now if only she could get her baby girl to slow down a little.

"She rolled over really quickly, which kind of scared the crap out of me," says Thiessen, 36. "She's already been scooting for a couple of weeks now! I think she's going to be an early walker, which frightens me."

Then again, Harper has to keep up with her busy mom: In addition to her role on USA's White Collar, Thiessen is also launching a new children's collection, PetitNest, which includes furniture, bedding and wall art.

PETITNEST - Crib

The actress partnered with HGTV Design Star finalist Lonni Paul to create the collection, which shies away from the traditional baby blue and pink color palettes.

"We wanted our fabrics to be a little more sophisticated and less child-like," says Paul, herself a mom to 4-year-old twins Jett and Sophie.

Adds Thiessen: "We didn't want the typical, cliché baby furniture. It was important to us to have a style that appeals to people who are very much into the design world."

PETITNEST - Dresser

Meanwhile, Harper's already showing she has clear opinions of her own. "She does not take a bottle," says the star. "She's full-on breastfed. She's all Mommy. It's challenging for sure, but it's what's best for her."

As for regaining her pre-baby shape, "I was working out with a trainer in New York and trying to do all that, but I'm giving myself a break and not going crazy — because I can't. I can't do that," says Thiessen.

"My priority is her right now — and PetitNest! I've lost a lot of weight and I've still got a little bit more to go, but I'll get there. And I'm okay with that." (People)

Tiffani Thiessen Has a Granny Nanny, Do You?

Posted October 8, 2010

There are so many reasons grandparents can be THE most incredible people to care for your children other than yourself. After all, they raised you and probably love your children at least as much as you do.

And many more parents today rely on their parents to help raise children, especially with the tough current economic times. According to a recent article in The Washington Post, currently 1 in every 10 children now lives with a grandparent, and many more provide care. It's been dubbed the "granny nanny" movement.

While some cases, like Thiessen's, can be ideal, there also can be plenty of challenges when it comes to grandparents acting as caregivers.

Sometimes there are issues when it comes to who makes the final parenting decisions. I've heard from plenty of miffed parents when grandparents O.D. their children on junk food, or take them places and buy them things parents don't want them to.

There can be a fine line between spoiling and a complete disregard for parents' wishes.

The generation gap can also have safety implications if grandparents aren't willing to change their ways.

For example, most grandparents put their own babies to sleep on their stomachs, but as we all have learned (or should have learned), the safest way for a baby to sleep is on his back. According to Bill Schid, founder of HALO (which manufactures sleep sacks), 40 percent of parents with children 2 years old and younger are worried grandparents won't follow their instructions to put their baby on her back.

And when grandparents have to step in to help with grandchildren out of necessity rather than desire, it can create a whole other host of problems.

"These are not necessarily grandparents who are retired," Amy Goyer, a family expert with AARP, told The Washington Post. "They're preparing for retirement, and a lot of times their retirement savings is going down the drain. They lost it or it was undermined by the economic situation, and now they're spending it on family. It puts the grandparents' generation in jeopardy as well."

As unique as each family is, so is each grandparent's relationship with their grandchildren. The most important for any of them, however, is open communication and a commitment to work together to do what's best for the children regardless of any situation.

Personally, I'm ready to build on a mother-in-law apartment the minute my mom decides to retire. (The Stir)

Got A Tinge Of Ging(ivitis)?

Posted October 8, 2010

Who didn't grow up wanting to be like Kelly? Admit it: you def wanted to show up to a Bayside pep rally with a giant pimple because Kapowski did.

It's been a while since the Saved by the Bell days, but Tiffani Thiessen, who played Kelly Kapowski, is giving us plenty of reasons to keep looking up to her. Our user Shauna Drumright, who won our Facebook and Twitter contest to interview Tiffani, got the scoop on the actress' healthy and positive approach to life (which must be working considering her skin is like a baby's butt and her hair shines like the top of the Chrysler building...yes, that was a quote from Annie. Deal with it.)

Tiffani leads an exemplary lifestyle by working out, drinking a ton of water and taking good care of her body. An important part of caring for her body, Tiffani says, is paying attention to dental health. So when Crest approached her to help launch a new toothpaste for gingivitis, Tiffani was excited to help spread the word.

Now, you may think gingivitis isn't something you need to pay much attention to, but half of American adults are affected by it and many don't even realize they have it. And if you're preggo, you're at even greater risk of developing it. Seriously, who wants to look like they just jumped out of one of those photo books of 19th century tenement ladies with a baby and inflamed gums?

According to the Mayo Clinic, gingivitis is an early form of gum disease that generally causes swelling of the gums, which can make them bleed when brushing or flossing your teeth. It also makes gums turn a dusky red, losing their healthy pink hue. Since it's often not accompanied by pain, many people don't realize they have it. But that's no good, because if left untreated, gingivitis can result in periodontitis, a more serious form of gum disease that causes tooth loss (yeah, we have those dreams too... they're common) and increases women's chances of giving birth to premature babies.

Tiffani says that Crest's Pro-Health Clinical Gum Protection toothpaste is clinically proven to help reverse gingivitis in four weeks. According to Crest, the toothpaste offers fluoride chemistry that helps inhibit gingivitis-causing bacteria in the mouth and helps eliminate plaque at the gum line.

And aside from her efforts to promote dental health, we also appreciate Tiffani's positive and balanced perspective on life. She advises ChickRx users, "Don't rush through life and get so caught up in trying to get things done," whether professionally or personally (read: don't rush to find a husband). She oughta know: Her husband is a total lamb and a total babe. Like, Baberham Lincoln if he were president kind of babe. Tiffani continued, "Be really grateful for everything you have and don't get stressed out over little things" because "life goes so fast." Yeah, we know... seriously seems like yesterday when we were rushing home to see if she'd pick Zack or Slater.

Also important to Tiffani is "setting a positive example for those you care about." She says her greatest role models, her mother and grandmother, "are strong women who get their point across but have a nurturing side." Now Tiffani, a new mom herself, is giving tons of young women some pretty good reasons to keep wanting to be like her too.

We're not saying that just because a gorge celeb that you wanted to be growing up says to do something, you should do it. But, we are saying that if a gorge, super cool celeb that you used to want to be (and still kinda do) who happens to have ridiculously perfect teeth says this toothpaste helps and there's research to help back it up...it's worth a shot. USA Renews White Collar

Posted October 2, 2010

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - USA Network's entire programing lineup is returning next year: The cable channel has just renewed "Royal Pains," "White Collar" and "Psych" for another season.

The network previously agreed to bring back "In Plain Sight," "Burn Notice," "Covert Affairs" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent."

With seven returning dramas, USA boasts a stability that rivals that of some broadcast networks. Though USA expects to launch one or two new dramas next year, executives plan to expand into new genres, such as comedy and unscripted programing, to help broaden the lineup.

"Royal Pains" will likely return for 18 episodes, which helps the network split its season into two uninterrupted runs. The medical comedy-drama was second only to its "Burn Notice" lead-in for delivering adults 18-49 this summer among scripted shows (3.5 million in the demo).

"White Collar" and "Psych" (each with 2.3 million in the demo), will each receive 16 episodes. (Reuters)

What Tiffani Has To Say

Tiffani also commented on this via her Facebook:

Great news! @WhiteCollarUSA got picked up for another season. So excited to be working with such an amazing group of people for another year.

We just ended with episode 9, stay tuned for January when season 2 continues!

New Mom Rules!

Posted October 2, 2010

Tiffani at Crest Pro-Health CampaignHer daughter is only 15-weeks-old, but new mom Tiffani Thiessen is already making sure Harper Renn lives a happy and healthy life.

That's why the "White Collar" star has joined forces with Crest and Oral -B with to bring attention to Gingivitis, a gum disease that affects more than 50 percent of American adults if left untreated.

CGL sat down with Tiffani in Greeley Square Park for an intimate chat about taking care of her baby's gummy smile, what she craved while pregnant, how she stays stylish as a new mom and Harper's favorite way to get around New York City.

As a new mom, having healthy teeth for you and your baby must be a top priority.

Healthy teeth are extremely important to me. I am a new mom, and now I want to pass on my good habits to my child. Your smile is the first thing that people see, so you need it to be healthy.

What have you learned about taking care of Harper's teeth and gums?

Half of adults have gingivitis. That's just crazy to me. It's going to make me run out and have my whole family checked. The baby's almost four months so I've gotten a little baby care package from Crest. You can take a soft washcloth over their gums so they don't get all crazy from using a toothbrush.

What type of diet do you and Harper follow?

I've always tried to follow as clean a diet as possible. The whole time I was pregnant I craved a ton of fruit. It's one of the biggest things you should be eating, so that was good. That, and I started eating red meat again when I was pregnant, but I guess I needed it. As for Harper, she's completely on breast milk right now, so she's doing well.

How do you stay stylish as a new mom?

For me it's hard. I have to wear shirts that are easily accessible to the eating child, that's something that's a little tricky at times. It has to be comfortable. I wear the Baby Bjorn a lot. Harper loves being in it, especially in the city. She walks around all day long looking at everything.

Are you seeing a lot of yourself in your daughter, even at 15 weeks?

Personality wise, it's hard because she's just starting to get her own personality by laughing, cooing and giggling. Looks wise, she is the splitting image, right down the middle, of my husband and I. She's my husband from eyes up, and below she's me.

What type of books are you reading to Harper?

I think reading to her is so important, and it's such an essential thing to do with your children. We've been reading to her since the moment she held her head up. We have books in her little baby bag and we read to her all the time. We love the board books. They are small, hard, bright and vibrant. She's already focusing on the colors and pictures, so they're the best.

Any advice on keeping our own teeth healthy?

Flossing is tough, but if you put the floss it in your purse, I bet you'll do it more often. (Celebrity Good Life)

Playdates with Mario's Kids

Posted October 2, 2010

Tiffani grew up with Mario on Saved by the Bell — now she wants her little girl, Harper, to grow up with Mario's daughter, Gia!

Tiffani Thiessen spent four years working side-by-side with Mario Lopez on Saved By the Bell, and the pair developed a friendship that's still strong — 17 years after their show ended. The new mom to baby girl Harper Renn Smith says she can't wait to set up playdates with Mario's 2-week-old daughter, Gia Francesca Lopez! "I will absolutely [arrange playdates] when they're a little older," Tiffani told HollyBaby.com exclusively at the Juno Jr. Launch event at FAO Schwarz in NYC on Sept. 25. "Mario just had her. [And Harper,] she's three-and-a-half months... so when the baby is a little bit older, of course!"

Keeping In Touch

Right now, both Tiffani and Mario are focused on being first-time parents. "He's really busy right now," Tiffani explained. "I'm very busy right now, but we text each other every now and then" to keep in touch.

Keeping Busy

"It's a lot," Tiffani said of her jam-packed mommy schedule. "When you give birth, that second eye [on the back of your head] always happens right there. That's why I'm kind of looking over there to make sure she's OK. She's getting a little fussy," she added as she looked over at Harper.

And until the craziness calms down, at least Tiffani has her own mom around to help out. "She's been here for two-and-a-half months helping," Tiffani said.

But no matter how busy she gets, Tiffani (who told us she wants to have more kids one day) wouldn't have it any other way. "I didn't want to have too many expectations," Tiffani said, "But my biggest thing is that I actually couldn't believe that I could fall so much in love with something so little." Aww! (Hollybaby)

Who Helps Take Care of Baby Harper? Grandma!

Posted October 2, 2010

Tiffani and baby, Harper RennBetween a hectic shooting schedule and a new baby, it's hard to find the right balance but new mom Tiffani Thiessen knows what's most important: her daughter Harper Renn.

"My priority is her and it's always her," she told PEOPLE Saturday at the Juno Baby event in New York City.

Her secret to being able to do it all? A little help from her own mom, Robyn.

"She's living with us here in New York," Thiessen, 36, said. "I wouldn't be able to do it without her."

How's the family adjusting to life in the Big Apple? Baby Harper gives Manhattan a thumbs up.

"She loves the park, she loves the Hudson, she loves it all," said the White Collar star. "She just likes the activity. I think she likes the movement."

And it seems like she likes the movement so much, she's started moving herself.

"She's flipping over and she's scooting already which is freaking me out," said Thiessen. "I feel like I just had her yesterday and now she's 3½-months-old! I can't believe I can love someone so little so much." (People)

How Tiffani Is Losing the Baby Weight

Posted October 2, 2010

Less than four months after she gave birth, Tiffani Thiessen vows to lose her baby weight before she even considers having Baby No. 2.

"It takes some time, but I'm doing my best," Thiessen, 36, told UsMagazine.com at the Juno Baby Celebrity Launch in NYC Saturday. "I had a really nice pregnancy. Knock on wood if we have others it'll be the same."

Losing the Weight

How does the White Collar star, who gained 50 pounds while pregnant, plan to drop the final 20 pounds?

"I work out with my trainer here in New York, and then soon as I finish the show next week, I go back to L.A. and I'll work out with my trainer there," she said. "My goal is to be back where I was at the end of the year."

To slim down, the actress — who exercises up to five days a week — began varying her workout routine after welcoming daughter Harper Renn with husband Brady Smith.

"I was a runner before and I just started running again," she told Us. "And I do weight training, yoga and Pilates. I mix it up because I get so bored. I like to do a variety of stuff."

No Pressure

Still, the new mom insists she isn't feeling any pressure to look a certain way.

"Give yourself a break! Give yourself time," she said. "They say it takes a year [to get back in shape], and sometimes it does, so don't stress about it." (US Magazine)

Tiffani Thiessen's House Is 'Full of Animals'

Posted August 15, 2010

New babies are a lot of work, and no one knows that better than actress Tiffani Thiessen, who welcomed daughter Harper Renn on June 15. But just because she and husband Brady Smith are busy with baby doesn't mean they've neglected their three furbabies, two dogs and a cat.

"Here's my philosophy: My husband is so wonderful, and he will wake up with me and help me with whatever I need," Thiessen tells PEOPLE. "But ultimately, I'm the one who needs to feed [Harper], so I can use his help during the day with our dogs and running errands. I want him to get a little more sleep because I think it's important that at least one of us is sane!"

Though Thiessen and Brady have "a big house full of animals," their L.A. home is feeling a little emptier these days following the loss of one of their two beloved cats. It happened "the day I started to go into labor and had [Harper]," Thiessen explains. "She was the pet I'd had the longest, so that was really sad. It was kind of surreal, almost spiritual. A cat that I had for 17 years...then knowing I was going in and giving birth to my daughter, it was interesting."

But despite that loss, Thiessen's life is "full of love," she says. "You haven't known this person for very long, but you love them so, so much. It's such pure love for something so little. It's pretty amazing." (PEOPLE Pets)

Tiffani Thiessen Gives Us a Sneak Peek at Harper's Nursery

Posted August 1, 2010

Before welcoming daughter Harper Renn on June 15, Tiffani Thiessen and husband Brady Smith spent weeks designing her nursery. Their biggest decision -- the paint color.

"We originally wanted green because it's one of our favorite colors and we're not traditional blue or pink people," the White Collar star tells PEOPLE Moms & Babies. After deciding on grayish floors, the couple chose a light lavender, which they "absolutely love."

Harper Renn's - Nursery

Their other priority was making the room as eco-friendly as possible so Thiessen and Smith installed recycled floors and used VOC-free paint. "Even her 'Harper' name sign and play balls were made out of vintage fabric scraps," she reveals.

But it's the personal touches that the new parents cherish the most. Actor and artist Smith hand-painted the beautiful collage of birds on the wall. And the white tree and floral print crib bedding are from Thiessen's new nursery décor collection, Petit Nest, which she and partner Lonni Paul plan to launch at the end of this year.

So how has life changed for the former Saved By the Bell star?

"You don't have poopy diapers and spit up before you have a child, so it's a lot of that right now," Tiffani tells Just Jared.

Along with diaper duty, Tiffani reveals she has plenty of other projects keeping her busy these days.

"Tons of stuff! I just had a little girl 5 weeks ago so that's taking a lot of my time right now. I'm also promoting the show [White Collar] and going back next week to finish off the season in New York, so that's doing a lot. I'm also starting a children's furniture line called Petite Nest for the end of this year, so I've got a lot on my plate." (Celebrity Baby Scoop)

Thiessen Treasures Baby After Nightmare Birth

Posted July 22, 2010

Former SAVED BY THE BELL star TIFFANI THIESSEN is thankful her newborn daughter is fit and healthy after a nightmare birth.

The actress and her husband Brady Smith welcomed their first child, Harper Renn Smith, in June (10), but Thiessen reveals her smooth pregnancy turned complicated as soon as she went into labour.

The baby girl was delivered by Cesarean section after 30 hours in a Los Angeles hospital and the star admits the tiring process was "very surreal".

She says, "First my water didn't break; they had to do it for me. Then the baby wasn't descending, because the cord was wrapped around her neck.

"Once she was finally out, I didn't even get to hold her before they whisked her away. You're staring across the room, like, 'Hello? Over here!' The whole thing was very surreal."

Thiessen, who introduces the world to little Harper in a photoshoot for this week's (begs19Jul10) People magazine, insists home life with her daughter has been much less dramatic and she's still marvelling at her bundle of joy.

She says, "She sleeps anywhere from three to four hours at a time at night, which is not bad. It's a lot of work. This is a kind of love that you never really knew about. You haven't known this person for very long, but you love them so much." (Contact Music)

Tiffani Thiessen is One Hot Mama

Posted July 22, 2010

Tiffani Thiessen is an integral part of the cast of the red-hot show, White Collar, which airs on USA Network, Tuesday at 9/8c, and she happens to be a mom for the first time which proves there is nothing she can't do. She has been the part of a few very popular series over the years, and now she's a part of a show that took off almost instantly and even though she's an actress in demand she wanted to be a member of this cast as soon as she read a script.

"Oh, yes, I auditioned like everybody else. It's kind of a funny story. It's kind of a long process, which I'm sure a lot of actors say is the case. But I went in and I read the script and absolutely fell in love with it and just really was adamant about wanting to do everything I could possible to try and get the job. So I went in and auditioned for it and I was put on what they call a short list, but they wanted to cast the husband first, which they hadn't found Tim yet...Read the rest at Sportology.com

Tiffani's Ticked Off by Pregnancy's Premature Publicity?

Posted April 24, 2010

As anyone can see, Tiffani Thiessen posed for the May cover of Pregnancy magazine.

But E! News has learned that the literally well-rounded White Collar star was none too pleased when the San Francisco-based publication tweeted about its exclusive with Thiessen, who in turn stopped the magazine from sending out any further materials to fellow media outlets.

Why, you ask?

Your guess is as good as ours, because Team Thiessen hasn't commented on any Pregnancy trouble.

The actress herself has been tweeting about her pregnancy for weeks now ("So weird having wardrobe fittings when your so pregnant but having to make it look like your not pregnant," she posted back on April 7).

And the excerpts from Thiessen's interview on Pregnancy's website seem benign, including the admission that she's been craving—and eating!—red meat for the first time in 20 years and is experiencing "drastic" hair growth.

"Most of it is little fuzzy blond hairs, but every now and then I'll get a black hair coming out of my belly button—that's really pretty," she cracked.

Thiessen, who's due next month, also says that she hopes her first child is tall and artistic, like hubby Brady Smith, and that the baby has her laid-back personality.

And she didn't want any of this getting out before the magazine hit the stands, because...? (E! Online)

Tiffani Teams Up w/WSPA To Educate Consumers on Choosing Humane Foods

Posted April 16, 2010

Actress Tiffani Thiessen, star of the TV series "White Collar," has taped a 30-second public service announcement (PSA) for WSPA to educate the public about reading labels on meat, poultry, eggs and dairy products to see which ones signify that animals were raised humanely. The PSA is running on both cable and network television stations across the U.S. market.

Thiessen said, "I am pleased to be a part of the Eat Humane campaign for the WSPA. The organization's key philosophy about food is something I believe in personally. It's important that people make educated choices when buying food, which can be confusing and misleading with the food labeling system. It is hard to know what you are really purchasing and that is why I filmed this PSA - I wanted to help WSPA inform people about what the labels really mean."

She further explained, "If you choose foods labeled ‘American Humane Certified,' ‘Animal Welfare Approved' or ‘Certified Humane,' you know that the food you are eating did not involve animal abuse or come from factory farms known to be bad for the environment."

Factory farms use intensive "production line" methods to maximize the amount of meat produced, while minimizing costs. They keep animals together in unnaturally large numbers, creating a large amount of waste that creates an environmental problem. In fact, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations reports that livestock production accounts for 18 percent of greenhouse gas emissions - that is more than all global transport, combined.

Therefore, by making minor changes and choosing humane foods, you can make a difference for animals and the planet. (WSPA)

Tiffani at her baby shower

With only weeks left before her May due date, Tiffani Thiessen celebrated with a baby shower on Sunday afternoon at her and husband Brady Smith's home outside Los Angeles.

The White Collar star welcomed about 65 guests to the outdoor party, hosted by former 90210 costar Jason Priestley's wife Naomi.

Guests enjoyed a cake from Hansen's Cakes and a gift bag that included goodies from baby company BabyBjörn.

Apart from stocking up on presents -- among her gifts was The Hot Mom to Be Handbook by Jessica Denay -- Thiessen has also finalized plans for the birth.

"I'm going to give a Girl Scout effort to hypnobirthing," the actress, 36, tells Pregnancy magazine about the method that uses hypnosis to promote natural childbirth.

"I'm really excited about it. That's my plan, but my husband and I are both very, very open to however the child is supposed to come out. Knock on wood it all goes well. I'm not one to judge any woman on how they choose to give birth. It's individual and I think everyone's different." (People)

Tim Dekay Talks Kelly Kapowki

Posted March 9 2010

Your wife on the show is Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, who will forever be Kelly Kapowski to us. Were you a 'Saved By the Bell' watcher?

I never did! I certainly knew who she was. I never watched 'Saved By the Bell' or 'Melrose Place,' but whenever I saw her I thought, 'Oooh, she's cute!' I had been cast originally prior to her on 'Collar,' so they were bringing in a number of women to do a chemistry read. She walked into the room, said hello and gave me a hug and I thought: 'Oh, here's my pretend wife.' She's smart, she read well ... it doesn't suck.

With 'Tell Me' or even 'Collar,' how do you go about explaining to your wife all of these romps with gorgeous actresses?

With Tiffani it's very easy because she and my wife get along well. I learned early on to tell my wife exactly what she's going to see, because you don't want to surprise your wife when she comes to see a show or play and in a scene there's something rather provocative. Then she says, 'Oh, when did you shoot that? I didn't know that was going to happen.' That's not what you want. (PopEater.com)

Tiffani Talks Skinny Maternity Jeans and Pregnancy Cravings

Posted March 9 2010

Dressing isn't easy when you're pregnant. And when you're an actress who's expected to look a certain way, it goes from difficult to don't-even-wanna.

"It's more challenging to talk myself into getting dressed up, because most of the time, I don't want to. And If I don't have to dress up, I'm in stretchy pants and leggings --very comfortable clothes," Tiffani Thiessen tells StyleList.

But adds that, "A Pea in the Pod and Isabella Oliver have beautiful pregnancy clothes."

The "White Collar" actress is expecting her first child with husband Brady Smith in May. The couple knows whether it's a boy or a girl, but is not sharing the news.

"A Pea in the Pod has been a godsend," she says. "Luckily, they make normal clothes and tailor them for pregnancy, which is awesome. I love that I get to still wear my skinny jeans that have a belly on them. I've pretty much stayed true to my own style."

"I just got a few pieces of the Heidi Klum collection. I'm very excited to wear them," she reveals.

While she can still stick to her clothing routine, like any pregnant woman, Thiessen has cravings -- though hers are throwing her for a loop.

"I used to be a vegetarian and I'm eating red meat now. It's weird," she says. "I crave a lot of fruit and a lot of dairy, which I never used to drink. I'm definitely listening to my body, but it's been a big transition." (StyleList)

Veggie Tiffani Thiessen admits to meat cravings

Posted March 9 2010

American actress Tiffani Thiessen has revealed that pregnancy has had a significant impact on her diet.

The 36-year-old expectant mum is due to give birth to her first child with husband Brady Smith in May and has noticed big changes in her eating habits.

In a recent interview with People, the Hollywood star said: "I was a vegetarian for many, many, many years and all of a sudden I started to crave red meat.

"Crazy enough I had a steak before I left tonight and I would never have eaten one before. One day I just woke up and craved meat. It's weird."

The former Saved By the Bell star and her hubby decided to find out the sex of their baby but remain tight-lipped about whether they'll be buying blue or pink for the new arrival. The couple tied the knot in July 2005.

Tiffani: "I always wanted to be a Mom!"

Posted March 1 2010

With the arrival of their first child just a few months away, Tiffani Thiessen and her hubby, actor Brady Smith, can't wait to welcome the addition to their family.

"It will be a new adventure! I always wanted to be a mom, and my husband is really excited. I can't wait to see how he's going to be as a dad," the White Collar actress told In Touch at the USA Network and Vanity Fair Character Approved 2010 event in New York on February 25.

Though Tiffani won't reveal the little one's gender, one thing is for sure -- he or she won't be the next big child star. "Oh God, I hope not!" the starlet, who started playing Kelly on the '90's hit show Saved by the Bell as a young teen, groaned when asked if her baby would join the business. A glowing Tiffani is due in May. (In Touch Weekly)

Pregnancy Makes Tiffani Crave Red Meat

Posted February 27 2010

With only three months left until her first child is due, Tiffani Thiessen is "feeling great" -- and feeling differently about her diet.

"I was a vegetarian for many, many, many years and all of a sudden I started to crave red meat," Thiessen tells PEOPLE at Thursday's USA network and Vanity Fair bash in New York. "Crazy enough, I had a steak before I left tonight and I would never have eaten one before. One day I just woke up and craved meat."

In addition to steaks, the White Collar star, 36, is also enjoying foot rubs from her husband, Brady Smith.

"He rubs my feet, my shoulders and he always gets anything for me even if I'm all hormonal," she says. "I have the best husband and he's a sweetheart."

As for whether the two will be decorating the nursery pink or blue, that's top secret -- at least publicly. "I couldn't wait to find out," Thiessen, who is keeping the baby's sex private, says. "Are you kidding? My husband I were way too excited to wait. We needed to know right away."

Though she will be a first-time mom, the actress's White Collar costar Matt Bomer says Thiessen's maternal instincts are already in full gear on set. "She's totally the den mother of the show," says Bomer. "She keeps us guys all in check and she makes sure that we are gentlemen. She's so organized and so loving and generous -- that can only make her an absolutely amazing mom."

Meanwhile, Thiessen's White Collar husband Tim DeKay, a father of two, has already given the expectant mom some parenting wisdom of his own. "I told her that being a parent is like the Peace Corps. It's the toughest job that you will ever love," says Dekay.

As for experiencing her changing body, Thiessen is taking advantages of her new curves. "The best part is not having to suck in your stomach anymore when wearing a tight dress. I love it!" (People)

Tiffani Thiessen Debuts Baby Bump (again!)

Posted February 27 2010

White Collar star Tiffani Thiessen, 36, showed off her baby bump for the first time on the red carpet Thursday night.

"I'd much rather be home at in my slippers, but you know, it's fun to get dressed up every now and then too," the mom-to-be -- who donned a chic, fitted black dress -- joked to UsMagazine.com at the USA Network and Vanity Fair fete in NYC.

Of being pregnant, which she announced last November, Thiessen told Us, "I think it's just a new adventure. I always wanted to be a mom. My husband's really excited, and so am I!" (She wed actor-artist Brady Smith in 2005.)

Thiessen says she's staying in shape by "doing a lot of yoga, weight training" and hiking a few miles three times a week.

The one thing she hasn't been so good about: sticking to her no-meat diet.

"Sadly I was a vegetarian for so many years, and I've been craving meat. I hate it, but I need it!" she admitted to Us. "I feel badly because I'm such a huge supporter of not doing that, but I guess this little one is wanting a lot of red meat so...."

Besides starring in her USA show, Thiessen is hard at work on another project: "I am developing a baby furniture company," she told Us.

She's more tight-lipped about the sex of the baby ("We're not telling!") and its name ("We have some in mind... but we're not sharing!").

One thing's for sure: When asked by Us if she'd like the baby to go into acting, Thiessen said, "Oh God, I hope not!" (US Magazine)

White Collar Heads to UK

Posted February 10 2010

White Collar, the US drama about an ex-con who escapes prison and becomes an FBI consultant, has been sold into the UK by Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution.

The show, written and exec produced by Jeff Eastin via Fox TV Studios, has been picked up by Virgin Media TV and will air on the male-skewing Bravo channel, which claimed it had "beaten off stiff competition" to land exclusive UK rights to the series.

It stars Tim DeKay (Get Smart, Tell Me You Love Me), Matthew Bomer (Chuck, Tru Calling), Tiffani Thiessen (Fastlane, Beverly Hills 90210, Saved by the Bell), Marsha Thomason (Lost, Easy Money, Las Vegas) and Willie Garson (John From Cincinnati, Fever Pitch).

VMTV's head of acquisitions Amy Barham said: "White Collar is a perfect fit for Bravo - sharp, witty, and delivers a slick twist on the classic 'buddy' genre." Stateside, the series debuted on cable channel USA Network in October and has been renewed already...(c21 Media)

Tiffani Mention in Tim DeKay Article

Posted February 10 2010

IESB: Can you talk about working with Tiffani Thiessen? Has that relationship between fun to develop?

Tim: It's been wonderful to develop. It's great to play an FBI agent as somebody on the side of the law, where the audience goes home with that person. That doesn't always happen. It's nice to be able to live out the side of Peter that is an FBI agent, and then come through the door and be a husband. So, it's a joy to work with Tiffani. She's very smart and we can trust each other. I was cast in the role and then they brought in women to do a chemistry read, to see who I would click with, and it was the same story as it was with Matt. When Tiffani walked in the room, we started reading and I knew, right then and there, this could be my wife, in the world of Peter Burke. (IESB.net)
